Childhood Sweethearts

Most of the manga I've read are about childhood lovers. I think those kind of stories attract me easily ♥.

Misao and Kyo, the main characters of Black Bird, reconnect after 10 more years. Misao is the bride of demon prophecy, and her blood grants incredible powers, her flesh immortality.. Kyo's family and the whole clan actually knew she would have been the bride of Kyo's older brother, Sojo, because he was supposed to be the head of the clan.




While I was reading Volume 2, I thought Kyo's grandfather was pretty nice to humans, and he preferred Misao to live, rather than being eaten. After he noticed Misao picked up Kyo from the start and sticked with him, told Kyo that he should be the clan leader.

In Chapter 8, while Kyo and his vassals are looking for Misao, Kyo comes first, faster than the others. He is the leader and has special powers. And he is more powerful than others.




Even if Misao married Sojo, he wouldn't have taken care of her, and protected her. In his mind, she is not that important. He only sees Misao as a delicious food. Sojo was the only one who sealed away Misao's memory, but she still remembered a little about only Kyo. Now her memories fully returned, and then she realizes how much at that time she has always loved Kyo, and she tells him that she loves him.

In their sweet childhood times, Kyo figured out that he shouldn't be with his brother's bride, and tried to kept distance from her. But it didn't work. Misao was attached to him already...

I hope we will see Misao & Kyo's childhood story again!! They are so lovely! ♡
